Job Description

Job Title: Crematoria Manager
Job type:Full-time
Level: Experienced
Work Location: Basingstoke
Salary: £30,000.00

To manage a Crematorium and Cemetery in relation to operational control and sales revenue generation. To ensure consistent delivery of the highest levels of client service as set out in ‘Serving our Local Communities’. To monitor and improve operational efficiency. To focus on building and maintaining the image of the business. To grow business consistently through community engagement and building local reputation.

Key Performance Dimensions
Job performance will be measured on the following dimensions:
• Client Service measurement and targets
• Operational efficiency targets (e.g. cost – revenue comparison)
• Development of staff
• Growth of business volume and revenue to annually agreed targets
• Development of grounds with business development manager
• Sales revenue performance and growth

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Service Excellence
• ensure consistent delivery of the highest levels of client service and provision of all aspects of ‘Serving our Local Communities’.
• ensure that he/she and other staff with whom they come into contact respond and behave in ways that, always, show sensitivity to the differing needs and requirements of the bereaved
• responsible for the delivery of excellent client service by All members of staff
• performance management of direct reports with emphasis on the provision of consistently high-quality client service
• use available client satisfaction indicators to positively reinforce good client service, and as the basis for identifying and improving service where required
• suggest refinements and improvements in client service to Regional Manager
Operational Efficiency
• identify unnecessary costs and recommend controls to Regional Manager
• ensure consistent application of credit control
• frequently communicate with all staff
• ensure that company policy and procedures regarding the management and handling of cash is adhered to
• ensure compliance with Standards of Quality Manual and Dignity’s Internal Procedures
• ensure that the working practices, facility, and it’s equipment are maintained to the highest standards according to Health and Safety legislation and Company regulations
• Manage and develop grounds and their maintenance maximising memorial opportunity

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Key Criteria:
• hold or be willing to study for the qualification ‘The Institute of Burial and Cremation Administration Diploma’
• A-level standard of qualification desirable, plus additional Crematoria related qualifications preferred (e.g. Certificate of Crematory Proficiency)
• at least average reasoning ability
• outgoing and communicative
• at least 5 years managerial/Supervisory experience with at least two years at junior management level preferable
• commitment to corporate funeral services
• Willingness to attend All courses as and when required
• Perform additional duties, etc if required by line Manager
• Flexible approach to the working pattern
• Willingness to travel/provide cover at other sites if necessary
Salary:30k plus bonus
