Contracts Manager, Groundworks. Residential and schools, RC or Traditional build & Infrastructure. Established contractor working to east and south of M25. £350 UTR negotiable.
Contracts Manager, for Schools and Residential Developments, Groundworks & Infrastructure, Traditional build and RC frames. To work for an established Groundworks and Civil Engineering contractor that is steadily picking up additional work. Your area would cover an area from south Essex, through Kent to the M23, mainly outside the M25. You must have a current driving licence.
Your Profile. Trades or Professional background. Either ~ Working up through the ranks you will have supervisory and management experience. Or ~ As a competent, qualified Civil Engineer, you will be given an opportunity to develop your career from a Project or Senior Engineer level into management.
Responsible. You will be capable of taking responsibility for live and impending contracts, meeting clients, programming and maintaining strong links with the Commercial side of the business. Repeat business is an important element for this company and your negotiations must reflect this. You must be IT literate and capable of dealing with all reporting issues linked to programmes and performance.
The Company is a Groundworks and Civil Engineering contractor that has been successfully trading for over 15 years. Working for major housing developers, constructing roads, sewers, groundworks, and associated infrastructure for new residential developments. Also, working for main contractors and Local Authorities on Schools & Civils Infrastructure works. Contracts range in value from £250k to £4m.
The Role. You will initially look after 2-3 sites and progress to taking on more responsibility as you develop with the company. You will preferably live in Kent, to minimise travel.

Qualifications & Experience. Ideally Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, having worked your way up via the Site Engineering route, with a minimum of 4-5 years practical experience, working for a groundworks contractor. You will be used to dealing with Clients, Design Professionals, Local Authority representatives as well as the excellent, directly employed, site staff. Your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certification should be up to date.
The Rate. £350 UTR basis, negotiable. This will reflect your ability and level of responsibility, negotiable package. Driving licence essential. Applicants must be legally permitted to live and work in the UK.
